🌕 Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius: Finding My Way Home Through Art 🎨

June 11, 2025

Tonight, the moon is full and glowing pink in the sky—like a cosmic blush, like the sky is remembering how to love itself.

It’s the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius, and that’s not just astrology fluff to me (although, I love this stuff… this was my Covid hobby: Learning astrology). It’s medicine. It’s metaphor. It’s moonlight therapy for a recovering soul with a paintbrush in her hand.

Sagittarius energy is about the journey. The crooked, messy, magical path we walk to find out who we really are. It’s the fire sign of freedom, purpose, truth-telling—and I swear, when I stepped outside tonight and saw that strawberry glow, it whispered:

“Keep going, You’re almost home.”

🎯 What This Moon Means (for me and maybe for you too)

Sagittarius moons don’t ask us to stay safe. They dare us to leap. They ask:

✨ Can you trust the path, even when it bends?

✨ Can you rewrite the stories you tell yourself?

✨ Can you hold both grief and gratitude at the same time?

For someone living with Trigeminal Neuralgia II, chronic pain isn’t just physical. It’s emotional. It’s spiritual. And it’s isolating. But this moon reminded me that my pain has also become my paint. My tears have become ink. My trauma is a palette, and my story is still being told.

🎨 Recovery Art: My Way Through It

I started Dove Recovery Art because I couldn’t find the light. So I decided to make it.

Each piece I create isn’t just art—it’s a step. A scream. A prayer. A breadcrumb on the trail back to myself.

And tonight, I lit candles around my June tree, decorated in nautical blues and sea-glass greens for Father’s Day—because my dad loves the ocean. I could’ve decorated it for my own 40th birthday, but I didn’t.

Even though he didn’t call.

Even though he won’t see it.

I chose love anyway. I chose ritual. I chose beauty.

The balloon in the tree? That one’s for me. That’s the nod to my birthday. To the fact that I’m still here, still sober, still fighting, and still feeling. That’s the real gift.

🌕 Message from the Moon

The Strawberry Full Moon said:

“You don’t have to have it all figured out. You just have to keep showing up with your whole heart.”

So tonight, I made art. I opened up. I let the light in. I turned obstacles into stepping stones. And I rewired one more part of my mind toward healing.

This moon isn’t just a phase—it’s a permission slip.

To feel.

To grieve.

To grow.

To choose joy even when it’s wrapped in sorrow. And to remember that home isn’t a place—it’s a becoming.

💫 If you’re feeling lost tonight, know this:

You’re not alone. You are seen. You are sacred. Let this moonlight guide you back to yourself. One breath. One brushstroke. One miracle at a time.

With Love,

Dana & Nicky

Dana Overland, Artist & Founder of Dove Recovery Art

I paint emotions. Not places, not things — but all the messy, beautiful, gut-wrenching, glittering feelings we carry. My art was born from survival: after years battling chronic pain, deep grief, and trauma, I found healing in watercolor and mixed media. Every piece I create is a surrender, a whispered prayer, and a story hidden in color and texture.

Through Dove Recovery Art, I turn pain into something soft and luminous — because even pain glitters when you hold it right. My work explores trauma, recovery, and the quiet power of starting over. Proceeds from my art help others on the same path: funding recovery efforts, community support, and creative healing spaces.

I believe art isn’t just something to look at; it’s something to feel, to carry, to heal with. Welcome to my world — where broken things become beautiful.
